Second Title at Queen’s Club

Marin clinched a comeback victory over Novak Djokovic to win the Queen’s Club 2018 final!

In a grueling match, Marin defeated Novak Djokovic 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-3 in two hours and 57 minutes, the longest Queen’s final in history. It was a dramatic match which saw Marin saving a match point at 5-4 in the second set and coming back from 4-1 down in the tie-break.

“I was just trying to stay mentally in it. And definitely, it was an extremely tough match,” Marin said in his interview after the match.

It was Marin’s fourth appearance in the Queen’s final and the second time he has lifted the trophy after he first won in 2012.

“(I’m) very delighted. Extremely happy for today’s win and also throughout the week, I was playing great tennis,” Marin said. “It was extremely tough today. I had to wait almost until the last game to get that first and crucial break… Novak was playing great tennis. It was definitely a joy to be a part of this final and to lift this trophy again.”
