In his first clay-court tournament of the season, Marin reached his second final in 2016.
In a high-quality match, Marin lost 6-4, 7-6 (13-11) to the Swiss star Stan Wawrinka (ATP 4), after having five set points in the tie-break, but lost all five.
It was Marin’s first tournament since March because of a knee injury, wich will help him to renew confidence in his game and to reclaim a place in the Top 10 rankings, right before Roland-Garros.
