ŠRC Salata, in Zagreb, was transformed into a tennis village. The day began with children attending a tennis clinic with many activity stations hosted by our event partners. During our Game Set Croatia exhibition, we had a variety of professional athletes such as: Grand Slam Champions, Davis Cup champions, Olympic gold medalists, world champion rowers and gymnasts, Champions League winners, NBA basketball players, football World Cup finalists, and the 2018 Ballon D’Or recipient. We put these champions to the ultimate challenge by testing their skills on the doubles court. Croatia’s national television network, HRT showcased the semi-final matches and final between Mario Mandzukic and, Patrik Jurina, 14-year-old Croatian junior player vs. Marin Čilić and Luka Modric.
All proceeds from the event are being put towards the construction of a multifunctional playground at Tordinci Elementary School in the village of Tordinci. Currently, the children do not have a functioning playground or any form of extracurricular activities available to them. We hope the build of this new multifunctional playground will provide children with an equal opportunity to achieve their full potential to explore their passions. We are extremely grateful to the athletes who participated, the spectators who came out to support the event, and our partners who helped bring this idea to reality. We are already planning for next year’s event!
