Barclays ATP World Tour Finals – London

For the first time in his career, Marin was among eight elite participants at the ATP World Tour Finals in London. Despite finishing round robin competition without any wins, this was week to remember for his whole life.
Marin reached the Final Showdown thanks to some great results in 2014 and winning US Open in New York (this title was the best achievement so far).
Marin was not far to win at least in the last round robin match against Swiss Stan Wawrinka, leading 2:0 in the third set but lost this match 6/3, 4/6, 6/3. In two previous matches, he lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic by 6/1, 6/1 and Tomas Berdych by 6/3, 6/1.
“I had a chance to win against Stan, but I am still pleased how I played the match. This was a big experience for me. There were many excellent tennis players who did not play well at the Masters when they came for the first time and there is no doubt that this will give me extra motivation for the next year. Now I will have a few days off, followed by some exhibition matches and at the beginning of December I will start to prepare for the next season”, Marin said.
